Gina and Mike have been swing dancing since the late 90s. In that time, they have both taught Lindy Hop around the globe, run dance schools, won major dance competitions such as ILHC, and performed internationally. Gina and Mike were fortunate to have learned directly from some of the originators of the Lindy Hop before they passed, including Frankie Manning, Norma Miller, and Dawn Hampton, and they seek to keep the spirit of that original tradition alive by passing on what they learned. Gina and Mike have a connected, fun, and highly creative style that engages students of all levels. They strive to empower students to lead and follow socially with comfort and confidence, and they approach the classroom with both good humour and awesome jokes.

Jussi (he/him) was born and raised in Edinburgh, but now lives in Berlin. He's been dancing Lindy (on-and-off) for 10 years - initially learning in Dundee at university. Over the years, he's taught many times at EUSDS. He loves going deep into technique whilst still maintaining a groovy, playful feel. His current favourite song to dance to: Lavender Coffin by Lionel Hampton.

Laura (she/her) grew up in the Swiss Alps and is now based in Berlin. She found her way into the world of swing dance in 2018 when she started dancing at EUSDS. Dance has been an integral part of her life. She started dancing contemporary and modern dance when she was 8 years old and even completed a degree in Dance Science & Education. In her dancing, she focuses on connection and creativity.

They're excited to return to Edinburgh and share their love for dance with you! (But definitely not as excited as we are to have them back...)

Grace has been dancing Lindy Hop since 2014, and started learning whilst at the University of York. After dancing Lindy Hop for a year or two Grace became interested in Solo Jazz, and decided the best way to do this was to go all in and choreograph a routine for the newly formed dance troupe, The New Yorkers. After their debut routine “Watch The Birdie”, Grace continued to pursue her interest in Solo Jazz choreography by creating more routines and showcases for the New Yorkers, even after moving to Edinburgh. The group placed in numerous competitions at events such as Swing Revolution and London Throwdown.

In more recent years, Grace has continued to choreograph routines, including Solo showcases at Lindy Shock, and team routines at Savoy Cup “Jazz Lads”. She has also developed her interest in Solo Jazz improvisation alongside this and can often be found in a jam circle or bopping about at the edge of the dance floor.

Grace is excited to share her enthusiasm for strong rhythm and musicality, along with her love of choreography.
